Screeching/Grinding Noise - 2009 CR-V
Noticed a horrible screeching/grinding noise (that seems to be coming from the rear end) just yesterday. Noise comes and goes and happens whether I'm driving or using the breaks although it does seem worse while breaking. Any idea's what this could be. And is it harmful to try and drive it to our dealer which is approximately 75 miles away?

It might be your rear diff if you have a RT-AWD. It might be low on oil or it might be dirty. You must use honda OEM Oil in the rear diff.

sometimes just replacing the fluid will not fix the problem, depending on how
severe it is.
Honda has a Service Bulletin to perform a burnish procedure. It's a little time consuming but easy.
How many miles are on it?
