Default Loss of power when heater is on

So whenever my heat is on my truck loses power I can floor it and it's as if I only have 1/4 throttle then when it shifts to. Second I'm good it's a 2001 crv rt4wd once I turn the heater off it's fine and peppy again.. anyone deal with this before the heater might just be in my head but seems it happens when my heat is all the way up

According to my Google fu, it’s because the A/C turns on which engages the pulley and robs the engine of some power. Probably moreso noticeable now that you have bigger and heavier tires. Or you have some other strange problem.

I didn’t think the AC would engage on the heat setting though. Makes sense, it does de-humidify the air.

Try the heat to floor setting, without defrost and see if that works better. It looks like the compressor won’t engage in that setting.
