2003 CR-V CV shafts
Hoping someone could give us some feedback.
The girlfriend bought a 2003 CR-V a month back. 130k mi on it, but the price was right and the engine seemed well taken care of.
We knew that the passenger side CV axle had a torn boot and needed replaced. Dealer said he'd do it at no additional cost to us. He did the work and even paid to have it aligned afterward. We still had some vibration.
Took it back and had him check it out. He checked the drivetrain, said the dampener needed replaced in the rear, but the CV joints checked out and the shafts were ok. He replaced the dampener and changed out the drivers side CV axle to be sure. Realigned it again. We had issues again within 20 miles. Checked for broken motor mounts. Dropped the driveshaft out and checked it. Everything looked fine. He replaced both CV axels again....still had vibration.
His mechanic did some research. Remanned and aftermarket cvs do have some issues, so we tried replacing them again....still have issues.
The cv axels have all been warrantied, but we're obviously racking up the hours at this point. Anyone out there having this issue? Has anyone found a fix? She loves the car, but we're obviously at the point where it's looking like we need to talk about buying something else.
Thanks for any advice.

Re: 2003 CR-V CV shafts
You're correct about problems with aftermarket on the CV shafts so it sounds like the mechanic actually did their homework, which is a good confirmation.
It's not something as simple as just worn tires or a bruised rim? The motor and tranny mounts may be a good place to look. Mine were totally shot around that mileage.

I had issues with a right front wheel vibration it was a bad front shock strut so replace both with new, but the vibration caused the right front drive shaft to fail, so I ordered a new set from Auto geek and installed those, had the car aligned and all is now good. It is a 2003 CRV 170k plus my wife's daily driver.
