crv with civic coilovers

Re: crv with civic coilovers
I went with the ff type 1's for the 98 accord (12k/6k) and they worked out pretty well with some civic extended top hats. I don't think there is enough dampening for the fronts though because when I go over a few bumps in a row the front will get a pretty mean bounce going. The rears are decent though. It will do for the short term though. Also the rears needed the bushing ground down but were long enough for direct fit.

take a look at my thread
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...3096091&page=1
I am using skunk2 pro S civic coilovers for my crv! currently waiting for 12k rate front springs to replace the 8k ones that comes with the proS coilovers, they are almost binded!
I will probably also need extended hats!

Re: crv with civic coilovers
there are many companies who make **** for the crv. not sure why people can afford $800+ civic coilovers to hack up but cant afford stuff actually made for the crv.
H&R makes drop coils for crv and can be had for only $240 shipped. i have them on mine, i cut one loop off the top, front and rear and it rides like a dream with only 1.75 wheel gap left. using kyb gr2's but you could step it up and use agx's that they make for the crv.
if you want fullbodies BWR makes some for only $800 that bolt right on, no mods. i've seen at least 5 other companies who make them for the crv for under $1200.
and before i get the hate, i too have tried much of the stuff listed in this thread but save yourself the time and money and buy stuff thats made for the crv and stop doing ghettorigged setups, it rides alot smoother in the end with less headaches.

Re: crv with civic coilovers
I've been looking at the D2 coil overs, and K sport coil overs, does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with these on there CR-V's? I've owned Buddyclub, TEIN, Skunk2's, OMNI, and APEXi, and CUSCO on some DC2, EG6 setups, but never owned K sport or D2...Really looking for some points of view.

Re: crv with civic coilovers
rides amazing. the accord springs are a high enough spring rate that it can handle the weight. I usually have a **** load of tools and a massive sub box that takes 2 people to lift in the back too.

Re: crv with civic coilovers
this thread is a little confusing as we have:
Civic coilovers which is too soft
ITR coilover which rears are too short and still soft
Accord sleeves on civic front OEM struts and ITR rear shocks
Then ITR front with DSM rears (What year, make model DSM? DSM covers the whole lineup)
after searching around, I dont see any CRV coilovers. After reading, it seems the spring rate are 12frt/8rr is the right rate for the heavier crv..
least we forget, the 800lb difference for a civic is fine and could work for a crv. That extra weight would be a civic loaded down with passengers. Now when you use these for the crv, they are pretty much maxxed out. So adding people and extra weight to the crv will really **** these up.

Re: crv with civic coilovers
Does any have a definite answer here on what shocks to use.
I know ground control makes crv specific applications you just have to call.

Or you can go here: http://www.tunersports.com/products....cturer=&page=1
Or you can go here: http://www.dsgperformance.com/fortun...over-honda-crv
I recommend the later, they are hand made in the USA, many happy customers, no grinding required.
