Default Crankshaft Timing Belt Pulley stuck

While changing my timing belt, I decided to attempt to remove the crankshaft timing belt pulley with a 3 jaw gear puller so that I can replace the crankshaft oil seal. Unfortunately, I broke one of the teeth on the timing belt pulley and now the car doesn't start. The repair manual says the pulley just slides off but I see a key deeply embedded in the slot of the pulley. I don't think the pulley will slide off until I can get this key out of the slot and I have sprayed it with heavy duty lubricant the past 2 days. Can anyone suggest the best way to approach this?

Any help/suggestion is appreciated.
