Default 99 crv no power, blown fuse

Yep, I looked thru the forum looking for a similar problem.
Last week, take car shopping. Everything is fine. Come out, go to start, dash lights come on, start to turn the key and zip, nothing. Dash lights, everything out except interior and headlights. Go home, grab the toolbox. come back and start testing. Find 40A fusable link for ignition blown. Go to parts store. buy the only one they had (and its a big store), put it in and drive home. start and turn off a dozen times at home. Everything ok. But I need to order 40a link before I do any diagnostic.
Order and Get my 3 spares (they are cheap), come home. first attempt to crank, lights go out and its dead.

A little background:
Last month, had the ignition switch replaced by the recall ( and only after 245000 miles.)
Starter looks original.

Where would YOU start?

Unplugged signal wire to solenoid and turned the key back and forth from I to III and blew the fuse.
Guess that rules out the starter.

When you unplugged the signal wire to the starter solenoid, did you unplug Connector C101?

No I did not.
I did turn the lights out and saw a flash on the ignition switch the same time the fusable link blew out today.
Think I will start there

I feel like I should rename this thread " Thanks for Nothing, Heritage Honda of Bel Air".
Dead short in the new wiring harness they put on a month ago under recall.

Broken plastic was not in the switch, so they knew it when they put it in.
