Icon2 2013 CR-V

May get one. Few questions.

1. Does anyone know what the production 2012 will end?

2. Anything new for 2013? Since 2012 is the new year, normally there should not be "any" changes at all, but...

3. The I4 Accords and Civics will go CVT in 2013. Since it's the same K24, will the CR-V be CVT?

4. Or any chance the CR-V will get the 6 spd AT?

5. What discounts are you getting? BTW, truecar.com is useless in this case. Tell me your deals for the 2012s.

  • LED daytime running lights
  • Keyless entry and push button start
  • Power tailgate
  • Hill Descent Control
  • Honda's Advanced Driver Assist System, or ADAS - includes:
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  • "Emergency Stop System (ESS) will automatically activate the brake and hazard warning lights (indicators). The lights will blink rapidly to warn following vehicles that the Honda CR-V is stopping abruptly, alleviating the risk of a collision"

Also, in the photo of the dash, you can see the memory seat settings on the door. Other things include parking sensors, turn signal mirrors, and headlamp washers.

^^^ good info.

These are the features that would justify the price Honda is asking for the EX-Ls for example. I'm sure all those features would add cost, but will be in-line to be competitive, to be a "real" choice for us.

Just looking at MSRP, and not actual sale price.

Okay, I'm confused. Is this an upgrade (or facelift?) from the existing fourth gen 2012 CRV?

From what I can gather after looking into the limited specs online, and in addition to the above:

-18 inch wheels as an option.
-look at that sky light...not a standard moon/sunroof...the glass meets the windshield.
-LED lights, I do not think these are daytime running only. The rear will also have the popping LED lights. Apparently Honda is intended to bring HID into their non-luxury brands, beginning with the Accord. LED is a mid-price, attractive alternative, I do think the LEDs will be for primary low beam driving lights in the 2013 CR-V.

-Notice the repositioned e-brake 0:05
-Memory seat positions (already mentioned) 0:10
-Obvious Euro model (cig lighter) 0:16
-Skylight (dying for a top-down view also expect at least three EX-L options aside form base) 0:39
-Better look at skylight 0:43 & 0:02
-low-beam LEDs & smoke tint again (no US option = deal breaker for me) 0:53
-18 inch tires = 18 inch wheels 1:09
-Looks like rear glass raises separate from rear hatch 1:18

I don't think we'll see the diesel or the headlamp washers...that's a Euro thing.
Backup cameras are no longer a "perk," it will be standard on all 2013 Honda models.

I think truepoint was spot-on, dealers aren't budging from their invoice price.
I've been trying to get a 2012 EX-L RES for 28,500 out the door...they may be laughing at me now...I'll be laughing when I'm back on the lot buying a 2013 EX-L and they want me to look at remaining 2012 stock.
If I'm buying close to MSRP, it won't be on a 10 month old new car.

I only hope that 84 month financing only grows in popularity, I know Honda only offers 72 max in-house, but I've been approved at a very well qualified rate for 84 months, and can have two credit unions compete in addition.

That spread is the key reason I'm interested in buying new. I can think of better things to do in the present with my money rather than tying up additional funds in installment payments...added room for additional principal payments. Five years in the loan, KBB will be twice the remaining loan of the vehicle...check it yourself.

I could care less about AWD/4WD as it's only something else that may have mechanical failure, I wish TPS weren't used at all.

I'd be an idiot to buy a 2012 at this point.
I'm excited and am patiently waiting.
For the love of what's great Honda, don't blow it, bring the LED option!!!

Some great pics (skylight):

I like the front end (lower grile) of this Euro version. They got the old model as 2012 so 2013 is their intro year. Sadly, I don't think we will get all the features that make this CR-V "Premium."

I going to bet we get the same car with 1 or 2 new colors.

Often what I don't understand is why Euro (and JDM) always get the good stuff. Ok, home market. Let's at up the numbers. U.S. IS Honda's "home market."

Failed in Europe means nothing. Failed in Japan means nothing. Failed in the U.S. = the end of Honda Motor Company.

Well, I guess the EU models get all the goods.
Why bring those features stateside when Americans are already gobbling them up.

Oh well, off to find an equivalent with HID/LED...
