I don't see the 1/2 spacers being sold with longer studs like the larger ones are? So far this is our new plan + having my parts guy at work warrantying the axles we just bought (just in case!). If they wobble with the 1/2 spacer, we will try no lift. And if it continues after that, maybe see if Honda still has new units or factory refurbished units (like Subaru does). Thanks all!
I had that acceleration wobble when mine was stock, it was slight and only heavy acceleration, but it was there. My impression is that it gets worse the higher you go. I think it's going to be up to you how much you want to compromise.

Nice! Looks like you need some spacers on the awning mount

I thought about it, but it would push the awning so far out to the side. I did some research and looks like everyone has the same issue no matter what vehicle.

That would be sweet on my Element. The way my doors open would make great use of that setup.

Berz out.

Due to needing new struts & mounts I wonder if this is time for the upgrade?

I just ordered a new All Terrain tires for the '03 CR-V, but being it rarely sees off road but being the struts & mounts need to be replaced is this time for me to do a Minor lift in the front?
& how much more money would it cost to lift the back to level it out after doing the front?

I think I'd be happy with a stock replacement but then again figured I should ask.
Considering the getting all ripped apart anyways.

I'm on a very tight budget.

How might spacers work?
Is that all I would need?
& then what follows?
I've been modding cars all my life & realize generally one mod needs to be followed by another & then another....
Its my wifes car & 98% of its life will be going back & forth to the grocery store & to visit the kids & such & maybe a random trip to Arizona from los angeles.

I suddenly remembered reading a while back that to raise these it was all connected to the Struts & such?

I don't really need to raise it, just thought since will be there anyways?

Is it just spacers & we're good?
I'm getting my new 225/70/15 mounted tomorrow & would considered bigger if I knew more about lifts & how much money & effort is involved?

Got the 1/2 spacers for the front, gonna swap them in the front and move the 1 1/2 to the rear. We were considering doing it on friday when they showed up or this weekend, but with it being 100+...nah. Monday will be MUCH cooler. I'll update with the results. Also replacing both axles under warranty, as my parts manager is a cool person like that.

Got the 1/2 in the front and 1 1/2 in the rear, and the wobble & C/V popping is eliminated. Only some remains with the replacement for the replacement axles, but it's livable.

Farewell to the Mudbug
My CRV got totaled today. Someone sandbagged in front of my son this morning on the interstate. He avoided them but bounced off the guardrail back into traffic and the front end was hit by an 18-wheelers. I'm in the ER now. Doc says he has a concussion but will be ok. Not sure where I go from here. I'll still check in from time to time.

So i was at a stoplight and a guy starts yelling at me. I turn down my radio to see what he wants. He was just asking if i wanted to buy his wifes old yakima roof racks with go banana rack pads that came off her rd1 as well. So i couldnt turn it down for 120 bucks and ive been looking for a while as well. I love the look it gives. Pretty noisy at freeway speeds tho.

Holy **** I'm glad you are ok. Could have been much worse. Are you going to stay in the Honda game or get a different vehicle?

Berz out.

I have a 99 crv and I just put 2inch lift with 31inc tires, I replaced axles, sway bar links, upper control arms, tie rods and ball joints. It shakes under acceleration, seems like the axle is binding. The mechanic recommended taking the axles back and getting new ones. Would that fix the problem or do I need longer axles? Thanks

Damn those are big tires! Did you use OEM axles, or cheap aftermarkets? Ive read the cheap ones can cause vibrations... Your CRV looks great btw.

Thanks man. I used carquest axles from advance but my oem axles were bad, I could possibly re build them or get new ones but idk if I'm still gonna need longer ones

There's a picture of the wheels and tires he had in his photo album. BFGs at 215/75, with the 2" Colorado mountain rally lift. Pretty sure he didn't run spacers...
