When H met B.

Re: When H met B.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. Hitting the track tonight, hoping with a hood since I had to cut more webbing, hopefully it'll close. I don't have a GoPro so a shitty cell phone tape to headrest will have to do for now.

Ok people with ef h2b qsd kit, what traction bars are yall using? I have innovative bars and while it clears the pulley with stock height, on dips, it would hit the bar. I'm thinking of taking it off, and putting a new one on. Which bars clears ef qsd h2b?
Thanks in advance.

Re: When H met B.
I used an ESP, but I don't know if he makes them anymore. If so, he makes them perfectly and I have zero complaints. I have heard that Full Race traction bars clear, but I cannot confirm.

Re: When H met B.
New tires installed today. I went with Nitto NT01s, 205/50/15. Great tires, super sticky. I used to chirp 4th with the economy Hankooks, now with NT01s, I barely chirp 2nd, and grips the rest of the way. I need to find the perfect launching point at the track this Wednesday. I ordered ESP traction bar as well, and as soon as that arrives, I'll be putting coilivers on for a better launch. Hoping for high 12s with these tires. Wish me luck!
Ok, something is off here because I've seen h2b EFs and they dont have to prop their hoods as high as I have. Mine barely clears VC as it is with webbing cut. Am I missing something?

Re: When H met B.
Well, these tires are sticky, but not enough. Traction continues to be an issue, best 60' is 2.2, best ET is 14.0 and trap speed of 98. Chirping 3rd gear, with tires at 15psi warmed up. Looks like more seat time is needed because I've ran faster with every pass. Started at 14.4, then 14.2, 14.1, then broke out 1st round at 14.0
Car runs excellent, just needs a better driver to dip into the 13s, possibly 12s. Next week I shall hit 13s. I ran with full interior and tool box, air compressor in trunk. Perhaps some weight reduction is in order.

I see no reason why this can't run a 13.0

Re: When H met B.
Thanks Redline, it was a blast to drive. I didn't have another vehicle to unload tools and compressor into and definitely didn't want to leave it out in parking lot. Maybe next time I'll have a support vehicle haha. My launching is still very inconsistent, and VSS not working so I can't setup 2 step yet. Oh, and don't get me started on the stock suspension, back end squats more than a roided out NFL dude. LSD and traction bar sure helped the front end though, no wheel hop. Better suspension, less weight, and more seat time and I'm sure I'll break 13s.

Re: When H met B.
It's been a long time and a few changes since I last posted.
After frustrating runs in the 13.7x, I decided a suspension upgrade was in order. Rear end squat on a 25 year old suspension just was not acceptable anymore. So Progress CSII 550/650 coilovers took care of that problem. The difference was significant. Just suspension upgrade alone, with no other changes to the car, shaved 0.3 off my ET. Best run to date is 13.42. Still battling with traction, but with 2.0 60'ft, it's about as good as I'll get from the Nitto NT01s.
I was having trouble with crank pulley clearance and hitting Innovative traction bar so in came ESP replacement piece. With stiffer suspension and more clearance, crank pulley headaches are now history.
With the new suspension, LS mesh weren't cutting it anymore and I needed more aggressive looking wheels. Came across a mint set of Work Meister CR-01s and they look fantastic.
While browsing the junkyard, I came across a mint set of CRX complete dash and center console, so dash swap is happening as I speak. More to come soon.

Bentley,
Progress are on, huge difference. I went with 560/650 setup, improved ET by 3 tenths. I thought about VIS Sir for USDM but they are not within budget now. Let me know how it fits for you. Yes, I'm running Evo PCV relocation.

Re: When H met B.
You can space down the transmission and engine via spacers under the mounts between the mount and block or mount and tranny. Washers will do the trick, too. Also with H and F to B setups, the engines "tilt angle" differs a lot, which may be causing ur valve cover clearance issues.
As for your ET's, if you really want to get the car into the 12s, and I am sure you do, all you need to do is get some 22x8x13 MT drag slicks and some 13x8 ET0-ET20 wheels, and you are racing. It will shave about .5 to 1 second off of your ET with probably 1 nights seat time.
Done this thousands of times, trust me.

Thanks for the tips. I thought about slicks, but I'd have to run 15s since I swap ex front brakes and DA rear disc. I originally planned to setup car up for road racing, hence the brake upgrades. You have a recommendation for 15" slicks. I'm leaning towards MH 23x8x15.
Thanks

Re: When H met B.
I ended up using the QSD hood spacers and trimming the webbing. The issue is that the front timing gear will hit the ridge that dips down on the USDM hood, so I believe the same will happen with the SIR style hood. It will still hit the low spot.

Re: When H met B.
Car has been sitting due to rain, so when it finally dried up, I took it out for a quick run. My friend works at Tesla and had a Model X so we decided to do some highway pulls. I'm glad to say car runs strong, as evident in this video. Thanks to all the kind words on this thread. Drag season is just around the corner, and I need to decide what modifications I should do next to dip into the 12s. As always, comments and suggestions are welcomed.

I love your car. My little h2b CRX is going turbo in a couple months, but these things are pretty fast all motor. I'm glad to see another ef h2b running strong. Keep us posted,
