Default vtec 1.6 sohc zc motr "new i guess"?

Well i was look on http://www.ardperformance.com/...l=201 and they had this zc 1.6 sohc vtec motor and they want 895.95 for the motor, trans., ecu have you guys heard of this motor and is hard to swap into a crx/civic. it supposedly has 130hp and it sounds like a japanese z6 or y8 "probably y8" it supposedly a bolt in for 92-95 civics and i was woundering if any has done this this swap or even the d15b2 vtec motor swap and how hard and what kind of E/T's. Also is it better then the dohc zc non vtec because it has 130hp as well and what E/T does in run in a crx/civic. What do you guys think, or should i do a minime with a b2 bottom end. im really confused and how hard is the minime to do along with E/T times. Just post all your E/T's with the motor done with mods if you would please.

hey mini me really isn't that hard...just be sure to convert to OBD1....I have an a6/z6 mini me and it seems to pull ok....I have not got any time slips but I think I am trappin around 90....I raced a newer prelude SH with a H22 in it and my nose was right with his door and I had my gf ridin with me and a toolbox in my trunk....BTW my car is a 91 crx si....the heaviest one ....but yeah if you do it I would highly recomend an a6 bottom end over the b2 just my opinion pm if you have questions

If you purchase that motor swap you would have to convert to obd1,add the wires for vtec and convert to a hyrdro tranny setup..And there is no cable to hydro kit for the d-series as far as I know..So you would have to fabricate some kind of bracket/adapter to activate the hydro activated tranny..I personally would just sell the hydro tranny and use a civic or crx si cable tranny and purchase a good clutch with the money you will make from selling the hydro tranny..

The mini-me setup isnt hard at all..There is a great writeup on this site by bauleycivic if you need some reference..
Basically all you do is take out the oil jet on the short block..Bolt on the sohc vtec head..Then wire up vtec either through a switch or get the proper ecu and obd setup..And if you are dpfi you will have to convert to multi port injection..

As far as dohc zc vs. sohc vtec zc..No offense, but both motors suck stock..But I would say the dohc zc is better because of the dual cams..

And 1/4 mile times..There are to many variables to give an exact number..But I'll say between mid 15s and low 16s if you're a decent driver..
