Using the B16A1 engine harness, will it work?
i'm sure this has been discussed before... but, search isn't bringing anything up.
Ok, my CRX has '89 CRX Si engine harness. I had a B16A1 in the car. I removed it, ordered me a less worn B16A1. The engine harness it came with is in absolute mint condition. the connectors are perfect, the wiring isn't brittle, perfect.
my OLD engine harness, is brittle, some of the connectors are broken, etc.
I did have four separate wires hooked up to my '89 SI harness for the added items for the B16A1.
I want to use the B16A1 harness that came with my engine. Will it work? I would leave the knock sensor, Vtec, etc etc unhooked and use my separate wires for those.
will it work?
edit: the engine is from an integra XSi (PR3)

That harness is designed to work on a RHD car, so you'll have a lot of wire extending to do.

im not sure if this would work or not, but at least ill give this idea.
maybe take a conversion harness (in a sense) for each connector. if you could get that many connectors. it would take a while, but each connector could have its own "conversion harness" in which you could run the b16a harness with all of its connectors, run your conversion harness, then connect these mini conversion harness' to your chassis harness.
i don't know if thats realistic, but i could see it being a pain in the butt.
or maybe better yet. take your old si harness. strip it of the connectors and replace each needed connector from the b16a with the original engine harness connectors. now i know some wires match from each different harness, but there might be a few different ones. maybe if you can get a diagram for each wires color would make an easier job? hope that helps some.

thats very true also, which would kinda destroy the point of using the b16a harness for its appearance, not that it wouldn't be good though since your original harness is so worn out.

hmmm, i laid the harness out next to my old harness, seems to match up identically.
I'm not speaking about the main harness (the one that actually plugs into the ecu)... it's the engine harness that connects to the engine and then connects to the fuse box/battery.
i think i read somewhere i may need to just repin the connector where it connects to the main harness at the fuse box... but, i need to verify.
