The unicorn, Whited's JDM SiR
I just couldn't resist getting this car. No idea what I should do with it though.
To start I need some of the basics car alarm, and radio.
Mechanically, it needs a better than OEM clutch, and 3rd gear grinds.
Cosmetically, it needs a paint job to be perfect.
Ideally, it needs a glass roof, and maybe a K20A or B18CR.
But this isn't a converted USDM car or anything bullshit. This is 100% legal JDM imported SiR.
More pictures to come.

Nice!
I don't know about that glass roof. I know that would be sweeeet if you could street drive it, but RHD is no fun in the left turn lanes. I guess it really doesn't matter since this car can't be registered for normal street use anyway.
You have a nice track *****... or a a money pit show queen.

If a vehicle originally manufactured for on-road use is shipped with its engine and drive train, it would be regarded as a motor vehicle for the purpose of the vehicle importation laws, and would have to be declared as such. If the vehicle was not originally manufactured to comply with all applicable FMVSS, it could not be lawfully imported unless it is determined eligible for importation by NHTSA and is imported by an RI or by a person who has a contract with an RI to modify the vehicle so that it conforms to all applicable standards following importation.
A motor vehicle that is at least 25 years old can be lawfully imported into the U.S. without regard to whether it complies with all applicable FMVSS. Such a vehicle would be entered under Box 1 on the HS-7 Declaration form to be given to Customs at the time of importation.

How did you manage to get the FMVSS approval?
Headlights and taillights are an instant fail as they don't comply with D.O.T.
JDM bumper supports also fail as far as I know - reduced safety.

Because 25 years old.
Aside from states like CA where they require all cars to meet CARB/smog regs, cars can be imported and driven. No questions asked. Just like in Canada, where they are 15 years old.
Now if OP was in CA, and put in an American spec motor, and BAR refs it, he can still drive it.
You can't do this with cars like Nissan SkylineGTRs where they didn't have an american/California spec engine, in CA.

Here's what I know -
The 25 year thing only applies to importing - no big deal.
Registering is state controlled, DOT is federal compliant and they are completely different entities.
Simply importing - no problem in most states.
Registering - not a big deal really as that paper just declares proof of ownership.
Registering for normal street use - hard to do because it should comply with EPA and DOT standards which the stock JDM car does not do.
This site explains what I'm talking about.
Notice how many restrictions there are regarding vehicles that are legally imported, but do not meet safety standards.

Interesting Whited - you gave me something to do with my down time at work today!

I drove her (or is it a him? since it is SiR) 300 miles already. I was on a three lane highway around DC. I look to my right and there is a couple recording me on their phone giving me the thumbs up, then to my left there is some guy recording me as well.
The only thing I don't like so far about the RHD is the pedal alignment and the seat movement. The pedals don't feel like they are in the right place maybe like a inch to far to the left, and the seat doesn't go as far back as the USDM ones do.
I have driven RHD cars before, but I was the most sober of a group of drunks in India everytime. I didn't notice those cars being strange at all, just lower gearing.

There are a few mild upgrades the SiR can be improved apon you may want to consider upgrading in time, even staying oem if that's your theme.
1st gen B16 engines had the very smallest of all B Series engines, at 58mm, so any upgrade can be beneficial.
They also has the most mild of b series vtec cams. Upgrading to 2nd gen P30 cams, or P73 would really help wake up the engine.
Though it's not a huge power increase, a good header can add a couple hp, but knock off a bunch of weight, plus look great at the same time.
SiR's from Japan come with right hand drive headlights. They are also plastic, plus use those goofy h4h bulbs that are harder to find in North America. I great upgrade, even in a right hand drive car, are the left hand drive EDM version's from the European CRX VT. They would be super great for driving in a left hand drive environment, lighting up all street signs on the side of the road properly. They ate make of real glass that doesn't discolor, plus use H4 bulbs that can be found at any parts shop

Thanks for the info Deetz, and you are correct the headlights suck.
So my interpretation of the votes so far are:
Take it to RaceWars - 1
Destroy the only legal SiR in the states to part it out - 1
Keep it stock with mild upgrades - 1
Deetz seems to have the only realistic comments on what to do with it. I know that if it was an Si I wouldn't really care, I'd do what I want with it. But being that it is so rare in the states, I'd truly like to hear what real CRX enthusiast would do.

Honestly if it was mine I would keep it as close to stock and era relative as possible, but thats me. It would also keep the value up. Tastefully mod it.

Re: The unicorn, Whited's JDM SiR
Bought some audio stuff.
Honda Double Din Multi-kit
The way I got it
I had to trim the edges on the left and right for the kit to fit in.
Also had to file down the screws that came with the kit to fit right
The shelf on the back of the console had to be rolled down (not up) to fit the length of the kit.
Here is the shelf that sits on that center console shelf.
As good as I could get it after multiple hours of trying to make it 100% flush.
Another view.
Watching some Bad Boys II. I need to get a e-brake override kit, as you can see the green wire on the floor.
Front speakers. They were missing
Rear speakers, upgraded. The ones in there were OEM Honda that looked pretty bad *** for being stock. I'll get a picture soon.

You could add a switch to defeat the parking brake on demand rather than having it defeated all of the time with the kit.
Since you added a nice deck, have you decided on where you are going with this car?
Nice mods like maybe a unicorn Mugen body kit? - or maybe just that sweet mugen wing
A set of the green fogs might look nice.
Always liked this wing
