Turboedit / datalogging / palm question

Im going to be running turboedit as soon as i get my ecu back.. its also having a rs232 installed. i was wondering if the palm ecucontrol program is compatible with turboedit's datalogging output feature.. and if so, does anyone have any experience connecting them? I have the ecucontrol program installed on my Sony Clie PEG-S320.. it came with a usb cable.. could i just use a usb -> rs232 connector? i appreciate any help in advance! heres a shotty pic of ecu control on the palm... looks neat https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmileo.gif

bump, i ordered a serial cable so i dont need to know how to connect anymore. can ecucontrol monitor te datalogging? thanks!

SETI20 07-15-2004 11:35 PM

Looks like a PGM-FI question to me.
But it seems sensible that if it installs...and connects...that it should read.
Maybe in the ECUcontrol FAQ? And otherwise check the PGM-FI phorum.

Re: Turboedit / datalogging / palm question (green91)

i got Ecu control on my laptop

i put serial conector to my ecu at CN3
and got the nokia cable to USB all wired right

on PM6 i beleive is not supported yet by ECU control
i tried and only get 1 second of info and thats it, i cant get a constant signal

dont know whats wrong, but the ecu control main page states that the PM6 ecu itsnt yet supported and that ecu control v.5 will, not the v.4

wich sucks......

anyways good luck... looks sweet on the palm

There are serial issues being worked out currently with the PM6 (OBD0) code...stay tuned.

I knew you'd come help, lol.

green91 07-16-2004 07:27 AM

im glad i asked.. i thought serial was already working with pm6. i would have been getting pretty frustrated when i couldnt get it to work. lol

Re: (green91)

it comes down to ever changing code, lack of extra personal time in the coder's lives, lack of coder's and actually still learning what the stock code is doing.

those of us who cant code, just have to wait and be happy with the progress they have made

green91 07-16-2004 11:19 AM

oh yeah i understand completely. im glad that i will be able to have real engine management instead of a FMU without having to pay an ungodly amount for obd1 hondata or a zdyne.

Nah... the palm pilot.
I know... not a WHOLE LOT of money, but I would only use it for communicating with the ECU so I can't justify buying one.

green91 07-16-2004 03:25 PM

well i got a hellacious deal on it.. so i cant complain. i normally wouldnt spend the money on it. i actually bought an i-opener to put in the car but i think im just going to sell it all off.

it would surprise you how cheap you can pick up a monochrome palm for these days...

great to hear this all. i gave up on the palmpilot datalogging for now, need to find a laptop to check jason's code out.
in any case, PGMFI guys keep up the good work!

i got a palm IIIc (color and backlit) and connecting cable for less than $100 shipped ebay a year ago. great investment for wideband and datalogging.

i have a handspring Pro with 16MB and LI-ION rechargeable battery good for 2 1/2 months and i got it with software, USB cradle, charger, whole 9 yards for 80 bucks from my friend who was "upgrading". glad this post came cause i couldint get it to work ether. i will problay get flamed for this but will it work on a PM5?

green91 07-17-2004 07:23 AM

you gotta have a custom chip and rs232 put on the ecu for datalogging to work... the zif socket alone is worth more than a pm5 is https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

DieMaster 07-17-2004 11:12 AM

Re: (green91)

will it work on a PM6 or 7? Cause next year some time, i'm gong it do the MPFI swap.

i spend about 4 hours a day on PGMFI.org https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmileo.gif

green91 07-17-2004 08:11 PM

its so much cheaper to go turboedit.. i couldnt imagine spending that much money for hondata! especially since both essentially do the same thing

Do any of you do Palm Datalogging on an OBD1 ecu?

is there another program out there that does a better job of it?

green91 07-25-2004 01:01 PM

bump for obd0 pm6 rs232 support https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif
