Default tranny swap help

Sooo I have a 91 dpfi sedan 4 speed manual. ..I have a 5 speed out of a 88.... When I swapped them the axles don't fix I wonder if I could swap parts ...Like the axle inputs

Also can I just take the 5th out of the 88 5 speed and put it in the 4 speed....and when I put the 21 spline clutch in and bolted the pp on it depressed like the clutch was pushed in any help I paid 100 for the tranny don't want it to go to wast

I believe all 88-91 civic axles fit into all 88-91 d-series transmissions. The inner CV joints should all be the same. The only fitment issues are at the wheel end of the axles. The CRX Hf and the Civic STD hatchback used a smaller hub with fewer splines.

Whatever axles you've been using on your car, *should* plug right into the Si transmission.

where did the axles not fit, at the transmission side or the hub side?

At the tranny it's supposed to be snug right up to the tranny but there's like half a inch gap

Are you sure they are "snapping" into place? You may not be pushing hard enough - it can be a pain sometimes. Don't beat on the boot to help it go in, or you will cause a break in the rubber.
