prelude clutch disc question
im doing the d15b swap next weekend and i got everything nessecary for the swap. one thing i bought was a 89-91 exedy clutch kit with a flywheel. problem being that i have an 88 si and was un aware if the spline issue.
now the clutch is a 212 mm clutch so is there any friction discs out there that has 21 spline and also has a 212 mm face?
also i read somewhere that the 84-87 prelude clutch disc's are 212 mm and are 21 spline, can someone verfy this? i just 2-dayed a prelude clutch disc at the dealerhip i work at, and i was wondering if the prelude disc will work?
if the lude disc won't work does anybody know if there is a 212mm disc with a 21 spline count.
BTW reading AND comprehending owns me

Re: tranny input spline question (mrtoastyjr)
the 2.0 Prelude disc is 212mm with 7/8" hub and 21 splines
the 1.8 Prelude disc is 200mm with 7/8" hub and 21 splines
haven't personally tried it - some people say it works and others say it doesn't

it works i have one in my car:
jdm d15b
88 crx si tranny 21 spline 212mm clutch from 87 prelude Si
(i plan on going turbo so i didint wanna risk using the smaller clutch)

Re: prelude clutch disc question (mrtoastyjr)
Sorry to bump an old thread, but I've just run into the same problem the OP had.
I'm dropping a SOHC ZC into my rex, and I have a tranny with it that I assume is an 88, but I'm not sure. I do know that I have the following for sure.
- 90-91 flywheel with 212mm contact surface
- tranny with 21 spline mainshaft
What I need is a clutch with 21 splines and the larger 212mm contact surface.
Does this mean I go to the store and order a clutch for an 87 prelude SI?
Are there any other alternatives if they happen to be discontinued or something?
EDIT:

^^^will that work for me with no problems?
