TPS adjustment issues.
So I keep trying to adjust my TPS to spec... but each time I get the low end set, the WOT goes off... and if I get the WOT set, the low end goes off.
Question. Does this mean bad TPS? If I keep this TPS, does the motor suffer less to leave the low end or the WOT off spec slightly? |
Re: TPS adjustment issues.
Post the voltage readings at closed and WOT.

Re: TPS adjustment issues.
most recent attempt gave me...
.50 closed = 3.87 WOT 4.45 WOT = 1.12 closed |
Re: TPS adjustment issues.
Is it an Auto Zone replacement? Mine was off a bit but not by that much.

I have a couple of suggested minor edits: This^ should instead say: Also, for 92-00 Civics, removal of the hood ECU back up power fuse often requires several minutes rather than 20 seconds to reset the ECU. I'm not sure whether this is also true for 88-91 Civics. Can somebody else verify or refute this for 88-91 Civics? You are right about the ACC vs ON II Position and I never even noticed. As far as how long to wait for the ecu to reset....this will vary. In my EF, I pull fuse and 10-15 seconds is all I ever need. If you want to bleed off any residual power a little faster, you can disconnect the ground cable from the battery and step on the brake pedal. This should drain all of the residual charge and speed up the reset process. |
Re: TPS adjustment issues.
you might want to slot the hole to give you more playing time and also take off the metal ring thing and just add regular washers because after you open those 2 slots the bolts will be too small.

Re: TPS adjustment issues.
i just had a similar problem at the shop with a tt 300z.couldnt get the tps to show correct voltages.problem was the throttle cable had been rigged by the owners and was slightly open..we still got it close enough to run correctly though.
