temp gauge?
 
my temp gauge stopped working when i changed the thermostat and the gasket that goes on the piece that attaches to the upper radiator hose. my question is, what would i have to change or check so i can get it go work again. and its a stock 89 civic sedan. thanx for looking

There is a single wire sensor coming off the side of the head. Look there you probably bumped it or removed it and forgot to put it back on. Either way if it's broke it is a Temperature Sending Unit.

Is it the one that is right under the distributor? if it is, mine shows two wires. the only single that i seen is the one that is on top of the valve cover thats for ground.

The sensor he is referring to is right next to that two wire sensor. It is more torwards the radiator in between the two wire sensor (ECT) and the upper radiator hose.

ok thanx for the info, i just found a loose wire that might be the issu.
