starter removal, bolts 14mm and 17mm?
Hey what up all. i just bought this 90 civic hb and i'm trying to remove the starter. i believe its the original b/c the top bolt was on real tight. it was a 14mm. now when i went to the bottom bolt, it was also super tight but i had to use a 17mm socket. Sound right? everything i read on here was 2 14mm bolts. I sprayed it with some liquid wrench and still can't get it out. any advice? i used a 1/4" with extension but it was too short, and i used a 1/2" with extension but it was too long that i couldn't get the leverage i need. thanks

well i reckon you better find an extension that's the right length, or somehow finaggle a wobble-socket down in there to remove it. and yes i do believe both bolts should be a 14mm. why one of yours is 17 i cannot say lol

ah a wobble socket. never thought of that. ya i thought the 17mm was wierd. This is my 3rd ef and the other 2 have been 14mm. then again this starter looks very different from the other 2 starters.
