Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
Karcept hubs installed
Finally putting my downstar lugs to use. What's next? Well I still need to buy stop tech rotors and fix my oil leak. The weather has been raining and my car sits outside so it's hard to work on but we will get there in due time

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
It's been a while since I've posted so I'll make this a decent update.
We took the car to the track and she ran a 12.1 so far....
Here's the bad part of it all.... noticed by the end of the track day that we were getting a lot of smoke out the catch can. Brought the car home did a compression and leak down test. Of course both were not good. Started digging into pulled the head off didn't notice much then pulled cylinder number 2 piston and bam there was the problem. Broken ring and chunks missing from the piston(where those cracks are is where it actually came off)
Started to pull the last 3 Pistons only to find out cylinder 1,2 and 4 were both chipped in the same spot. Basically now I am waiting for new pistons to rebuild it. Only now I am going to switch to 10.5:1 compression.

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
Back from the dead with an update. New block is done and built by Ngoc at synergy auto works. Here we have 10.5:1 compression srp pistons on eagle rods. I had the head ported by a buddy of mine and then took it to Felix at Apm to do a valve job and throw new seals in it. Just waiting on motor mounts now and back in the car we go.

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
well well well here we are again! lets just say things have not gone to plan with this car....let me tell you what has gone on.....so we finally finished the high compression build finally got the car running. The car sat for a while due to me being in the middle of moving and finding a new place to live. I got into a little fender bender with my daily so at that point i needed a car to drive. Decided to focus back on the crx and get running. So i got in contact with Lawrence Shipman a highly reputable tuner in Santa Rosa. Got the car towed up to him and dropped it off for the week. The day came where he finally texted me telling me it was on dyno. I was excited and nervous all at the same time. All was going good he had just finished up drive ability on it and he said everything was looking good and healthy. BUT thats when it ended. He went to do the first power pull and only took it to 7k when the headgasket popped =( He then took the head off and dug into it to see what had happened. To my dismay i unfortunately forgot to tighten the distributor down so timing had moved during the pull. (not tuners fault he checked timing and said it was spot on so he didnt feel the need to make any adjustments at the time) So we picked the car up brought it back to the builder where he then tore into it more only to find out that again we had melted the pistons. Which means i am back to square one again with this car! So now that i have you caught up some what here is what we are doing today. I now have the motor apart in my garage and i am going to build it with the help of a couple friends of mine. We are going back to the vitara piston again and doing a "cheap" low comp build once again. I will try my hardest to keep you all updated but as you can tell i suck at this lol

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
The long block is back together now. I wanted to change out the cam gear so I’m waiting to get one ordered before I put it back in the car.

Motor is back in and running once again. Waiting to figure out what I am going to do about tuning.
Plus I just picked up the ultra manifold so might wait to put this on before I tune 😬

Very nice CRX man, and great selection on the parts Looks like a clean build, and I normally don't care for the D series as much. Nice!

Here’s my issues I’m running into. I can’t seem to get anything to fit in this area. I guess that’s why you don’t see these manifolds on a rhd chassis

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
Couldn't you get around this with a 3 inch 45 degree silicone elbow?
You may have to bend the brake lines a little bit to prevent rubbing, but it doesn't look like a show stopper.

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
That is currently what i have and it still does not clear. Ended up redoing the front brake line with a banjo bolt and actually machining down the adapter plate and it barley clears

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
And this is what we came up with. There is probably a couple centimeters between the coupler and the banjo bolt. We are not sure how well it will hold up but we are going to try and see

Re: SNOWWHITE V2 build thread
Almost there! Just waiting on a fuel pressure regulator and need to finish up a couple vacuum lines and we can finally start this thing.
