THE SIMPLEST HYDRO CONVERSION EVAR
ok so i got bored today and went to the junk yard and got some stuff for the hatch. and i came across a random eg clutch pedal with the slave attached to it. took it home with me and look where it ended up
in my hand! lol j/k
eg pedal vs ef pedal(in back)
typical honda ef series pedal assembly
eg pedal attached
ugly i know(reminds me of a mazda truck)
how the pedals look normally
with the eg pedal attached
short video of ef pedal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGaW9LU_5dc
and now the eg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Hsc2_iohJI
after a few shaves here n there
after that, i realized that was ok but then realized the pedal still sat WWAAYY to far back. so i fixed that, ran into another issue and corrected it as well.
THEN i realized the width of the pedal where it mounted to the side of the pedal assembly was too long, so....i cut it
added some washers just to space it out
then i made a few adjustments to the bracket where the pedals sit and wala!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYHHdN6GhdI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meiuR9a_AFU
corrected that pretty quick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--jmNvp4oG8
end result
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aReTib8v77c
WOOT!
now for the rest of the images and where im at as of right now
original intended spot for insertation
close but no cigar
and this is where im at right now. nothing is bolted up yet
that was the last pic i could take before i really got into it but then it started raining
in my hand! lol j/k

Re: THE SIMPLEST HYDRO CONVERSION EVAR
most people when doing this use the hole eg pedel setup and mount the master cylinder on the fire wall, this is a good idea also

I don't know if I would say its the simplest, but I would say it could be the most least expensive. Great idea none the less. Anyone one with some sort of fabrications skills and the tools to do it (drill, hole saw, grinder..etc) could definitely benefit from this. The amount of time to remove the assembly is still the same. Then add personal R and D to their own work, verses purchasing a conversion that has already been proven to work with a money back guarantee is some times worth piece of mind.
I don't doubt this may become popular kudos to you sir.

oh no the only REAL issue here was/is the pin that needs to go back in the pedal/controll arm so it wont be so wobbly

I have also done this swap on my last 3 crxs and 1 civic! its the best way to do it. i use the complete eg pedal set or integra. and take the clutch lines too! i figured this out a few years back when i was going through clutch cables trying to use a stage 4 clutch and pressure plate! good find for you. but theres walk throughs on this everywere, jsut search. happy building
