Quick Question for People with JDM Clusters
Hey everyone. Im going to install my jdm cluster in my CRX this monday. I tore everything up and I found the two main plugs that everyone talks about. I know how to wire those.
I also pulled a small blue plug out of the stock cluster. Do i wire any of those?? the wires are smaller and I think its like 5 or 6 wires in it. It was located between the two main plugs.
and one last thing. I have the electronic vss. there is three wires. black, yellow, and yellow with a white strip. I take it that black is ground, but what are the other two. I heard one was power and the other was the signal. which is which?
TIA

Re: Quick Question for People with JDM Clusters (EF8_Fan)
The small blue plug is for the car diagram. It would indicate when the door or hatch is open. It's not just a matter of re-wiring. You would have to do some other things.
The VSS wires are: ground, power, and signal to the ECU/cluster. I forget the pinout for the ECU/cluster wire, but I'll try to look it up later for you. It's a 50/50 shot on those wires. Just try it both ways.
HTH.

The black is the ground, the yellow/black or balck/yellow is the 12 volt power, and the yellow (middle wire on the connector) is the signal.

Re: Quick Question for People with JDM Clusters (Jaker)
i have a yellow with a white stripe in the middle. then i have a solid yellow and a solid black. obviously the solid black is the ground, but what about the other two. i would just run the yellow with white wire to the 12v but this is the one in the middle. so i dont know.

Black=Ground
Yellow/White=Switched Power
Yellow=Lead (Connect to ECU)
*Make sure that there's a connection for the VSS from the ECU to your cluster too or you'll get a code.

Damn, so you can't modify your stock one like he did to his EG? Man, I was gonna try that too...
