I'd never run a metal box for the simple fact that it conducts electricity. If for some reason the terminals were to contact or bridge to the box, ZAP.

Hydrogen can pool up inside your car and go boom. Even if you leave the sunroof cracked.

I prefer a sealed battery (like the Odyssey) and a sealed box. Overkill is a good thing when it comes to preventing turning your car into a bomb or setting your hair on fire as you drive.

I'm liking that battery that was lowered below the intake. Can we get some more shots of that so I can see what you did? Is it insulated from shock?

Default nisei battery bracket

Wow, it's nice. But for $160!?

BTW, Dali Racing has had one available for a long time. And only $60.

any sealed battery would work, but NHRA requires a sealed box with an external vent, so it doesn't really matter (if you do it right)

also the fumes are more of a fire hazard than a health hazard. Hydrogen gas FTW

I think im opting for the Dali Racing one which is just as sleek and bares no name. I contacted them, asking how all their tie downs looked and they replied "They all look the same - only the size varies by the battery they are made for."

How are those small batteries for Daily Driving?

I've relocted mine to the trunk with a kill switch, but I wouldn't mind it under the hood again.

I know around here it is not a writen rule to have a box if it is a sealed battery, but they still give you a hard time i it's not in a box.

Heh, this gets used this spring to replace my crappy DIY box for my Braille battery.

Its sealed on top, and a few holes with sealing and it'll be 100% sealed and strong.

Kinda funny i have been looking for a box. But I need mine in the trunk, and it needs to be a box that will pass inspection at the track... anyone?
