Default Please help...

Car- 91 civic DX hatch,

My mods,

D16Y7 Non-VTEC
ECU - PM6
90-91 civic hatch SI 5 spd manual tranny
90-91 civic hatch SI intake manifold
Converted from to DPFI to MPFI.

Now I want to try D16Y8 VTEC, what do I need?

Can I just get D16Y8 Vtec head?
Also do I need to change my ECU again? If so, what ECU do i need?
What about the wiring? Do i need to change it also?

Please help me..

Many thanks,.

Vtec head, get a P28 or P2P and wire in vtec.
While your at it, get the Y8 intake manifold.
Get head gasket, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, spark plugs, plug wires, oil, coolant, head studs(bolts) if you can, y8 timing belt i think, and lots of vtec stickers =]

you don't have to get the y8 manifold, just a suggestion, it has better flow. For vtec you have to wire up the solenoid and pressure switch to the ecu and the switch also needs to be grounded. i don't think you need to tap any oil lines.

according to
http://www.superhonda.com/forum/f49/...ite-up-144200/
you just need to do some intake manifold wiring along with vtec. I just did a b7/z6 mini me while converting my CRX to mpfi and obd1. Just be patient. Don't rush, make sure your cutting correct wires and torquing down correctly

Also the ECU man... P28, P2P, PEPE lol.... so much headache, my head feel like twisted inside..which one will best for EF setup with D16Y7 bottom? btw, I did the DPFI to MPFI harness conversion.

He already answered your question regarding the manifold, you can reuse your 90-91 Si manifold.

Regarding the ECU, really what you have to decide is whether you want to run OBD1 or OBD2. Honestly, I think you're making it more complicated for yourself than it really is. Basically if you look in the FAQ and use GOOGLE you'll see all the pictures you need. JRZ88DX already answered your question in the first response.

You do not have to tap anything for VTEC. As for wiring, you don't have VTEC so you have to ADD it in. There's nothing confusing about it, you don't have it so you have to add it.

Make it simple in your mind, you are replacing one head with another, the new one just happens to have VTEC so you have add the wiring and run an appropriate ECU of your choice.
