how many times does this have to be covered?
THE SOHC ZC IS THE SAME DAMN THING AS THE A6 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
ok, off rant now.

Neither. I beleive they have the same Part Number.
Use the A6, it's the factory replacement.
The ZC gets it's extra power from slightly better CR and a wilder cam.

i was looking for an oil pan for when i had a zc... i had a bunch of b2's and a6's engines laying around. so I called up the local part stores to compare part numbers between the a1 and the b2
different part number but the gasket part numbers were the same. So I just assumed the oil drain plug were in different spots so the part #'s are different.
I never got around to it. I sold the zc hatch

please explain how a larger oil pan makes 12 hp
the zc has a bigger cam and better flowing exhaust manifold

The d16a6 oil pan is deaper. in order to use a a6 pan on a zc you need to use the pick-up tube off the a6 because it is longer.
the same goes for a d15 pan... it also is deaper.

Make a few threads and your question may be answered.
FWIW, the pickup/oil pan is the same part number between the D16A6 (Si) and a D15B1/B2 (STD, DX).
