obd0 to obd1 jumper harness
has anyone done a d16z6 swap into their ef?
I was wondering where you got your obd0 to obd1 jumper harness?
I went to a local race shop near my house and told them I wanted an obd0 to obd1
jumper harness. The dude looks at me wierd and said " you mean obd1 to obd0"
I told him I have a 91 civic with a 94 d16z6 motor.
so he orders the harness. about a month later ( today) It finally came in.
But it was the wrong one. It wouldn't fit in my obd1 ecu and my obd0 original harness. but It did fit a obd0 ecu and obd1 original harness, I think he gave me obd1 to obd0.
I returned to the shop and told them it was the wrong one, and told him again that I needed an obd0 to obd1 harness.
and this is what he says " you can't jump forward from obd0 to obd1, because some sensors won't be read. it he right?
I think I know what i'm talking about, I mean I see people with typer r motors and other obd1 and 2 motors swaps in their ef. I'm just ****** mad!

He's wrong. Anyway, you can buy them allover, or make one yourself.
I made my own, so that's my preference, but other will chime in to tell you where they got theirs.

Re: obd0 to obd1 jumper harness (projsectEF)
well I just found out that I cannot return this ****. It says no returns on special order or electrical parts. I'm ****** pissed off!
I didn't even want the obd1 to obd0 harness, the ****** dude tricked me into believing it was actually called obd1 to obd0!
What do you guys think I should do? I spent 190 on that piece of crap!
anyone on here want this, it's never been used.

What shop was it??? Not many people sell 1-0, just me, and a couple others... We can get you a 0-1, and if its wrong we will get you the correct item!

I don't think I should say what shop it is just yet. But If they don't give my money back or at least store credit I will tell you guys what shop it is.
where is your shop located. and how much for the 0-1 jumper harness?

I'm running an OBDI Z6 in my '91 Si with RyWire's OBD0->OBDI jumper and distributor conversion. The work is great and the customer service is outstanding. The guy at that shop doesn't know what he's talking about and he just cost you money. Tell them that this was not what you asked for, take a print out of RyWire's site with you showing that the OBD0->OBDI conversion harness is indeed available, and politely ask for a refund or store credit. Like others have said, threaten them with the BBB if they act up and follow through if needs be. Then order your stuff through RyWire.
You have to add a whopping seven wires plus one ground, extend the fan switch from the back of the A6 block to the thermostat housing on the Z6 block as well as switching to the correct plug, you have to lengthen the IAT wires a few inches for better clearance, and you have to put the grey OBDI injector clips on (removing the resitor box at the same time) so you can run the OBDI injectors to make the smog man happy. The wires that need to be ran are explained in the instructions that come with the conversion harness but they're three wires for the VTEC solinoid and four wires for the O2 sensor. No biggie at all, I even built my own subharnesses from looking at the ones on RyWire.com. I did have to use a sacrificial Z6 engine harness for all of this. You'll also need a Z6 distributor, 4 wire O2 sensor (both available from RyWire), and a P28 ECU.

Re: (droppedcrxsi)
yeah mine didn't come with directions, a local guy made it....
it's good you guys mention it though. usually on here i see "you need o2 sensor, ecu, dizzy, injectors, & harness" that's it.

Aye. I actually got most of my conversion tech from your website last year.

BBB = Better Business Bureau = http://www.bbb.org

By simply saying, "...am I going to have to report this to the Better Business Bureau?" Save this though. You get more bees with honey than with vinegar, know what I'm saying? Wait until they give you a reason to say it.
The conversion was easy. I just followed the directions that come with the harness and the distributor adaptors made life a lot easier. I just made the VTEC and O2 subharnesses, which took a few hours but looks pretty much stock and the motor fired right up after priming the oil and fuel pumps. The swap was pretty straight forward too. There were some minor snags here and there, but you have those with pretty much any swap. I did have a swap knowledgable friend with a nice tool selection helping me, though. All in all, I'm very pleased with this motor and the work I put into it.
