This is the wrong forum for an 87. On an 88-91 I would recommend removing the headlight switch stalk and cleaning/re-greasing the interior of the switch mechanism. 87 may be similar.

If that doesn't work, you need to test the wiring looking for a short or an open.

Thank You.
I saw where it was 88 up but thought there'd be a resource here anyway.

There are some videos on youtube about rebuilding honda headlight & wiper switches. Check them out. Once removed from the car, it's pretty simple. I recommend a can of CRC's QD Electronic Parts cleaner spray as it's much easier on plastics than brake cleaners or other chemicals (cheapest in the automotive section at walmart). That plus some q-tips Makes cleaning the old parts very simple. Just sprits a little to wet a q-tip and scrub away at the old hardened grease.

Also some Switch lubricant (also called Dielectric grease or even silicone grease). One small tear-open square packet from the autoparts store counter should be plenty.

By chance did you unplug your hazard switch? I have accidentally left this unplugged on an EF after doing some work under the dash, which caused hazards (obviously) and blinkers to not work.

Thanks a lot guys- i took the trim off the switch gear and sprayer some of the exact cleaner into the switch and checked the hazard switch.
then basically fiddled with one plug then the other under the dash by the fuse panel , took the aftermarket signal relay out and put the o.e. one back in since it appeared that it wasn't the relay and whatever i did where i did it the turn signals started working again!

still the hazards don't function.
is that circuit on a specific relay of it's own?

I think the hazard button itself is just a double switch that turns on both blinkers (using the same relay as the turn-signal switch).
