Icon4 new ignition switch

Trying to buy a used ignition switch (the cable, cast cylinder housing, and the cylinder with keys) on ebay and they're specifying that it is for an auto trans. I have a manual transmission and was wondering if this can be used? The listings seem to have the same pinned connectors.

Have a question about a similar issue. Have a civic wagon 1990 (shuttle) that I just purchased. The biggest issue so far is that the guys ex son in law dumped superglue in all the locks. Soooo. The only thing the current key is good for is turning on the car. I found an advertisement for 3 locks, the ignition and keys. donor parts are from an automatic. My car will be a manual. Will I need to modify anything to put the auto parts in a manual car? I've searched and found lots of varying advice.

Again, just need the ignition from an auto to work with the manual.

Thanks.

yes you guys can run the auto switches no problem in your 5 speed cars
the only difference with the auto and manual switches is that the auto has a lock pin on it that can only be opened when the car
is in park and lets you remove the key
but since you guys have 5 speeds the pin would never engage and so you dont have to worry about your key staying stuck in the ignition ever
hope that clears it up for everyone

Also, if you are still worried about it, you can just pull the Lockout Solenoid off of the lock body and do away with it, but it won't affect anything if you leave it. I will say that the lock body is different between the 88-89 Civic and the 90-91 Civic...the earlier ones are not as long as the later ones. I have a 90 Civic and just put a lock body on from an 89, and it is about 3/8 inch further back in the column than the original one. If you try to put a 90-91 lock body on an 88-89, it may interfere with the plastic covers that go over the steering column.

Awesome. Thanks so much Marcos Barrios and DaX. The new ignition and locks are on the way. I'll post an update when they're in the car.
