my friends 88 crx is throwing ecu codes 7 and 16
 
7 is the tp sensor and 16 is the fuel injection system
any recomendations on what to do? trying to save money so i want to stay away from the local shops

all we got when we checked the flashes was short flash which we thought was wierd since it flashed 16 times but should it flash 1 long time and 6 shrot times i dunno i have an obd1 civic

i dunno if this means anything but when we are driving and the rpms are up the car is fine but when we take it out of gear to stop the check engine light comes on and the car gets sluggish but if u restart the car the light goes off and it drives fine

its probably the throttle positioning sensor ull need a whole throttle body or intake manifold i have one for sale

thats great ^ i'm not sure but if you get a new intake manifold would that fix both the problems

No you don't, buy another TPS, and swap it. I just replaced mine saturday. You can find good TPS sensors here, or ebay usually. If you go to the dealer, they won't sell the tps seperately.

If its throwing the 7 automatically, take your tps off and make sure it is in the right position on the tb.
