shouldn't make that much of a difference. o2's control the fuel trimming. having the wrong o2 will cause a rich/lean condition. which does affect performance but you should still be able to free rev to redline.
the initial startup on mine did the same thing and it was because on the ef chassis side of the wiring the ckp and cyp are flipped aroun in the pinout order. i flipped the pins for the vref/signal return on both of them and all was well.

Well, I do have a rich/lean problem. It wasn't revving high because it was bogging out and the engine didn't want to go that high. I'm 99% sure the wiring is fine. I'm going to pick up a 4 wire in the morning, where is the best place to tap the +12V?

So should I just go ahead and get a 4-wire tomorrow morning? I think it may help with the running rich problem at least.

Do you mean cam or ignition timing? The car won't start unless I have the cam timing on, one tooth either way and no start.

check either your tps or your map sensor... we just finished a swap in a del slow... we made it a mini me, but after we got done with it it was running fine... so im guessing the sensors or your dizzy wiring..

Re: Mini-Me won't rev past 4000 RPM (downest)
i know in obd 0 cars, the o2 sensor cel wont cause the car to go into limp mode. it might be a result of seeing a 1 wire instead of a 4 wire though. ive heard about cars with auto tranny ecu's going into limp mode when run on a manual car. is your p28 a manual ecu or auto? i dont even know if they make auto p28's, but something to check nonetheless.
either way you are either in limp mode or your ecu is not switching to the high cam map for some reason. do you have enough oil? because low oil pressure can also cause it to not cross over to vtec.
just some ideas. good luck.

Re: (The Lobster)
I made my own harness. Anyway I got the O2 sensor today (Bosch) and I'm wiring it up now... still getting a code 41. Signal goes to the old O2 wire, two are ground, and one goes to pin A4 right? The sensor I have has a black, a grey, and two whites. According to the paper in the box, black is signal, grey is ground, and the whites are the heater. I hooked one white to A4, black to the old O2 signal wire (which is also black), and the other two are grounded at the thermostat.

Ha! I literally had this exact problem 2 years ago with my z6 head swap. Turns out you need the a6 dizzy to match the ECU. The z6 dizzy wont work with the a6 ecu and obd0 wiring (unless you want to convert it...). Not sure if this was already posted, but just an fyi!
