Manual transmission car dies in reverse?
1990 Honda CRX SI, with a d15b7 swapped in and obd1 conversion. Just started having this problem this morning. I can put the car in reverse fine, but as soon as I let out the clutch it dies. It idles fine (although it has misfired on cyl #4 for years), it has lots of power in the forward gears, and it starts up right away. It also intermittently dies while shifting gears if I let off the gas too fast.
New plugs, wires, cap and rotor, battery, battery cables and grounds, fuel pump/filter, O2 Sensor, TPS sensor and IACV.
Where should I look next?

What trans?
Has the trans ever been opened up?
I have rebuilt a few cable D-trans and if it isn't put together properly, reverse engages first at the same time.
The car won't even feel like it wants to move - it just hangs and stalls the motor.

Re: Manual transmission car dies in reverse?
Even if I feather the clutch and rev it to 4000RPM it dies the second the car starts moving (not like the ebrakes is on, more like an electrical problem). Also it was working perfect up until this morning. No check engine light either.

I have this same problem. I read else where that I should remove the wire from b9 on the ecu plug. It wasn’t even there so what now lol pm6 ecu

Check your vacuum line to the map sensor. Because the engine moves differently on the mounts in reverse, it can open an existing crack in the line and stall the motor. Seen it happen.
