Fuel Woes - again...
I know that by now you guys are getting mighty sick of my fuel system....
so please help me fix it so I can stop whining
Anyhoo, yesterday I put in my third Holley fuel pump, and it had loads of fuel pressure for a while, but then slowly dropped down to 30 pso, then 20, even when the car is running. However, fuel pressure still sits in the system when the car is off. Now, I took off the main line and primed the pump into a gatorade bottle again, and it sprayed a good amount of fuel. No problem there, I think. Then, I got my brother to prime it while I squeezed the return line coming off the intake manifold, and it sprayed gas all over my intake manifold!!!! I think it's a loose fitting, cause I had to ghetto rig the system using brass adaptors because of different fuel line sizes. Could this also indicate a problem with my new FPR?? Like it's just flowing gas straight through the system, for example?

Update:
The car loses fuel pressure when I back out of my driveway, or if I drive on a gradient. The fuel pump makes funny whirring noises, and the pressure dips down to like 28 psi from 40 and the car tries to stall. I'm thinking the pickup is not sitting right in the baffle??? Anyone have any advice??? Please help! The pressure climbs to normal if I'm on a flat surface. WTF could be wrong??
