Re: I promised pics and video of my 4g63 crx (integra95gsr)
This is something that I haven't heard about really before. The timing belt breaking? How would it have any more of a chance of breaking vs. a b-series one?
Speaking of this, the first time my roommate and I went to start a 4g63 in his mirage, I was so confused because the motor spins the other way. I didn't realize that there is a third shaft in these transaxles that reverses the direction so you can travel forward!

Come to think of it, I have had a couple friends with 4g63 eclipses break timing belts for no reason on trips.

"Worst engine ever built" has such a nice ring doesn't it? I did plenty of research and it took me quite a while to settle on the 4g motor. I liked the fact that they were facturo turbo and the aftermarket suport rivals the honda/acura market. The intake ports are massive compared to even an H22 and the sealed deck/cast iron motor was a wonderful design. This 4Gxx platform has been pulling around mitsu's since the early 80's until 99/00. I just don't know why you'd throw such a term out there while it seems you're misinformed.
As an aside, ask away, I could tell ya anything ya need to know about details.

~Alex</TD></TR></TABLE>hey i m not throwing down at the 4g63 motor at all, i had a 91 laser RS and it was one of the fastest car i had! good motor but just make sure set the right tension when you put a new timing belt on too loose it will skip timing and bent valve

snapping timing belts what are you guys seriously talkn about no offense to anyone but i've built and been around tons of fast *** dsm's and i've never heard of this. The only thing i can think of is that the b shaft belt broke and got caught up in the timing belt and then snapping it. Dude igotcrx well no **** with any timing belt install you have to watch the belt tension, i'm pretty sure by the looks of this car and what he is doing i'm sure he knows what he's doing and the 4g63 engine is an awesome setup once its in the right hands. Big props man

I think he picked the right motor.
Factiod:
A 4g63 eclipse was the FIRST compact car in the 10's so just remember that DSM is just another wall in the house that Honda built.

It was all custom work done at a family owned shop called APG Performance in Woodale IL. I'll see what I can do for pics.
