88 SI Restore Questions, Mainly Electrical
I really need help with the turn signals if anyone has the experience, I've tried the flasher, fuses, bulbs, and I get nothing. No hazards, no green arrows, no click, nothing at all. Thanks!
Picked up a new 88 Si with the intent to restore its condition etc.
Well, I got it not running, swapped my B18 in it, rebuilt suspension and steering rack with ES Master kit.
Right now it runs great, but I have no turn signals, like no arrows, no front or rear lights nothing. What's my best starting point to track down the cause and keep in mind, I SUCK with electrical. Checked fuses, all good.
Now also, when I start the car, it primes, stops, fans kick on, and all is normal, starts fine etc., but the check engine light does not flick on for the 2-3 seconds like it's supposed to. Is this an issue? I'm not throwing any codes at all.
Last for now, the temp gauge is not working, I'm sure this is easy but if you know where to start that would be great.
I will also need a OEM hood to get rid of the awful and hideous scooped carbon fiber hood. It's yours free if you replace it with an OEM ha ha!
Thanks!

Ground the temp gauge, it'll work.

Check all wires that you touched, I did this once with my steering rack and side arms and had no turn signals, had it plugged into wrong spot doh
Heres some wiring diagrams to read

Actually yes, I'll be in NY, but I don't know how to get the hood on the plane. Thanks for the diagram link, the signals actually had not worked before I did the swap, so there is a break somewhere. Looking into it over the next few days. Still haven't found an answer to the CE light at start.

Turn signals were not working due to a faulty hazard switch.
Now can anyone help me with the Check Engine light not coming on when I turn the key to run or are we all too busy arguing about where to get JDM paint jobs and clean headlights?
