how do you open transmission?

how do you open transmission?
I got new internals for my transmission and i need to know how to take it apart to put that **** in. i took off all the case bolts, and its about an inch apart, but it won't budge any further. any ideas? (gears broke inside this transmission )

Manual is yur friend
Shiflt linkage is binding you up more than likely unless you did something stoopid like not take one of the external pieces off that the manual tells you to.......

on the end of the tranny there's a I think 17mm plug on the end.
remove that and there's a snap ring under that, spread and lift and it's off wiggleing it might help.

Yep. I suggest getting snap ring pliers to ease the process.

I just use two flathead scerw drivers. The plug is 3/8" drive on both of my transmissions (d16 and b18 cable.) Good luck.

don't listen to him I wasn't sure how to get mine open the first time I pulled mine apart it's not too hard, just keep it in order and keep it CLEAN
