Default how do i remove the a/c belt?

well my a/c compressor is flucking up so i need to replace it and the belt. I was wondering how do you take off the belt? Do you HAVE to remove the p/s belt to get to the a/c belt or can you do w/o it? thanks.

If you're replacing it, just cut it

Most likely you will have to remove the power steering belt..
That is how my '95 Civic is..

Remove the crank pulley to replace a belt?
Now why would that be necessary? please explain....

On the bottom of the engine their is an idler pully to tension the belt for the air conditioner. You loosen the bolt on the idler pully and then their is a bolt that goes through the back side of the idler pully, to either tension or release the belt. You just back the tension off and the belt should be loose enough to slip off of the other pullys. You should not need to pull the crankshaft pully.

When you pull the A/C compressor, their is a bolt that goes in from the top, towards the left fender, right under the upper motor mount. Their is also a bolt on the bottom, from the left fender, through the mount and the compressor, with a nut on the exhaust manifold side.

Good Luck
