Re: How to: D16Z6 block with D16A6 head
As I recall with the A6 belt there was just a ridiculous amount of slack and the Z6 belt just wouldn't go on. Pretty sure that the B2/7 belt is the only way to go regardless of how much is milled off the head and in the grand scheme of things .030 off isn't going to affect belt size as much as it will mechanical cam timing. As for the oil jet that's correct, I just pulled the one from the old A6 block and modified it to fit.
If you are going to be using a Z6 head gasket you should at the very least have the head's mating surface inspected. When swapping heads it's a good idea to have it inspected first for warpage but it's slightly even more important when switching from a composite style gasket to a metal headgasket.

Z6 blocks appear to be a lot more common than A6 blocks nowadays, so your walk-through is definitely a gem for us EF Si guys.

Re: How to: D16Z6 block with D16A6 head
what year was this D16z6? I need a new water/connecting pipe for my D16z6 but some of them show 2 nipples (one by the waterpump and one by the thermostat) but I want the one with only 1 nipple (by the thermostat) like you showed in your first post. Thanks.

Glad this thread can still help people out.
"hatchaneg"-This was a 1995 Z6, but if it helps out the D15B8 that was originally in my car had the same pipe with just the one nipple/outlet. Worth mentioning also is that the intake manifold was stamped with P32 and not P28 like I was expecting. Maybe there's different variants floating around.

I can use help see ive been parting together an si swap. So far I've got the dizzy. Harness.head.trans. IM. And I picked the block with internals but without the main bearing girdle. For 20$. I found it for 50$ shipped but that's the price of a Z6 short block at the junk yard. Which should I buy?

Since your question has nothing to do with this thread you should make your own thread. I'd be more than happy to share my two cents with you there.
