First Honda 91 Hatch (would you save it)
I got this car really cheap.
Here is my dilemma. I would like to fix it up maybe do a mild motor swap and learn to tinker on the car myself. I work at a small car lot. So I have a pretty good connection for body work. But the car is in my garage and currently wont run so I cant have him look at it yet. So the question is. Would you fix it? I can take more pictures tomorrow if needed. Most of this is bondo. http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1198.jpg Passenger side rocker panel http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1213.jpg More Passenger side http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1212.jpg And another passenger side http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1202.jpg Drivers side. http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1211.jpg Drivers side http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1208.jpg Passenger Fender http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1205.jpg Hood http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n...s/DSCN1206.jpg |

No. Take off every salvageable part on it Ebay them, scrap the rest of the car, and then go buy a car without a rusted out body that you can work with. No offense. ;)
Unless you want a super project... |
Re: First Honda 91 Hatch (would you save it)
my saying is "ah rust.....its contagious". Yeah grab the good parts and scrap the rest. That car is to far gone.

Unless you want a super project... I have priced rocker panels and 35 dollars each and wheel arch at 28 bucks each. And found a fender and hood for 50 dollars. Just trying to get as many opinions as I can. |

that car looks like it needs alot of work. in my opinion part it out and junk the shell and get another shell.

Re: First Honda 91 Hatch (would you save it)
Unless you can weld and do much of the work yourself it is going to cost you more than the car is worth to repair, for what you would spend you will probably be able to get a car with a decent body to start your project.

If you can weld then you can save it, but it's going to take a lot of work, and a lot of unbondo'ing, unless you can find the parts. |

I appreciate all the input everyone. Gonna part out or sell this shell to someone who wants to part it out. Thanks all. I found a clean EF already built but not sure I want to spend the money on it. Kinda defeats the purpose of learning to work on them myself. Not sure how this forum works but if a Moderator wants they can lock this thread up. |

Its a car, things will go with time...

Re: First Honda 91 Hatch (would you save it)
Sit on whatever cash you have at the moment. If you're patient, you can find a good/solid/clean rolling shell (minus motor/tranny) for around $500. I have never, and will never, buy a car that someone else built (unless I PERSONALLY know said person). There are too many "thrown together" Honda's running around, at least if you do it yourself, you know exactly how you threw it together :P

Re: First Honda 91 Hatch (would you save it)
Save all the interoir parts you can and find a better shell not worth it,if you feel like takeing a road trip i have one no rust at all for sale.
