Default eg trans in ef question

Everwhere i search the answers contradict and i need to know 100% . The car is an 88 civic hatch 4 speed. Stock d15 . Will an eg trans fit ( im allmost 100% it will but i want to double check) and what axles do we use? Its his daily and hes not into tuning. We found a 94 eg trans off a d16 and we want to know if it will fit without buying eg axles and without heavy modding?

EG transmission uses hydraulic actuated clutch and ED/EF uses cable actuated clutch - EG transmission has different mounts from ED/EF - you could buy a Hasport conversion kit that would allow you to use the EG in the ED/EF - it won't bolt right in without the conversion kit - you would also need a new clutch disc - the 88 clutch disc won't fit 89 and up transmissions - your stock axles would work with the EG transmission
