EGR Valve?
Umm is this my EGR? If so, why do I have one? I thought they didn't come on CRX's...anyone know? Am I wrong?
Sorry bout the pics, these are the only ones I have handy and they were not aimed at the part I am talking about, but it is circled in the pic. If I get to my garage today I will take some upclose and better pics.

Re: EGR Valve? (HT Chaplain)
So what the expetive is it? Lol...I don't see any other CRX's with it...I mean, I unplug the wire and nothing happens, I put it back in and still nothing...Haven't checked to see if it throws a CEL though...

Re: EGR Valve? (denraweb)
No that is not the actual EGR valve itself. Not sure if you have an si or not but my HF had an EGR purge valve on the firewall along with a map sensor. The actual EGR valve is not in your pic cause thats a JDM b16. Japan does not use EGR valves cause i heard they don't have emmisions.
If your concerns are hooking up the valves on fire wall you only need one. The si only has one as other models have 2 purge valves on the firewall. You do not need to use the EGR purge valve at all for the b16.

Sorry forgot to mention, it is an '91 Si
Ok, so why is it there? Lol..I heard them being on HF's...but Si's? I'm leaving right now to take some pics and figure some things out.

Hmm so should I just leave it on? I wanted to remove it, but didn't want to without knowing what it was/is. I'M GOING TO TAKE BETTER PICS RIGHT NOW TO CLEAR UP ANYTHING CONFUSING!!

Well don't you have a vac line on there that you placed a t on and then split the vac lines for the b16??
If you remove that where will you get your vac source from?? pic of vac lines and setup would help

Yea, the t's there and everything. Here's the pics though.
There are two plugs, one on top and one on bottom (see pics). I pulled the bottom one and the car bogged really low and threw code 12 and 13 (read really quick and wasn't double checking, but I'm sure they were right), EGR lift sensor and BARO sensor.
And here's one that shows the whole system...

Ok, I unplugged the one that you said goes to the MAP sensor and it didn't throw a check engine light, but it threw codes on the ECU, 12 and 13.

What will happen if you don't hook up the purge cutoff solenoid at all? I'm just a bit curious..
What is it's purpose?
And, sorry for my ignorance, but what does EGR stand for?
[I'm really not trying to threadjack here.. haha.. I swear]

i just replaced the spark plugs and wires after they said i failed the HC and NOx. i figured that would fix the problem... but i wanted to make sure. should that pass me then???
