EF Hatch sunroof rear drain plug clean out
OK,
So I went to the FAQ for my sunroof problem but didn't get any specific info on where the drain plug was in the back of the car. Great pics of the rest of the sunroof assembly though. So here is what I did yesterday.
After looking at all the diagrams I went searching for the drain plug. My first guess took me right to it.
The tube can be found behind the drivers side tail-light cover.
Get a bucket to catch the water and sludge that will come out. Carefully remove the tube from the drain with a slight twisting. Remove the black drain plug from the bottom of the tube.
This is what mine looked like. Totally plugged.
Blow out the tube and the drain with air. Re-assemble and enjoy not getting dowsed with water:-) Now to find the front one....I hope it will be as easy as the back.

Thanks And the fronts are easy, you can see them go under the dash to out in the wheel wells. If you take your front wheels off you can see the little tube coming out. The tube connects to a black grommet type drain in the wheel well

but how did you get air in there ?
Compressed air from the sunroof assembly right? But where does the roof end connect to?

the ends of the tubes connect at the back of the sunroof tray under the glass. i put a piece of hose on the end of a blow gun and slid it back there to the opening of the tubes. unleashed a tornado and poof! nasty goo came out the other end.

you take off the nipple and clean it out. i dont think youre understanding it correctly, youre thinking its much more complicated than it is.
