Default EF Hatch. How do you remove the left vent on the dash?

As topic says. Is there a simple way to get the left vent cover to come off (the one to the left of the steering wheel)? I need to get into there to run a vacuum, but it's not worth it if the vent is a PITA to remove.

Yes, BIG PITA.
They are VERY fragile. Ask me how I know.
Pry out gently with a flathead screw driver.
BE CAREFUL. there are 4 clips on the underside, sort of reaching up
and holding on to the inside part of the dash.

Yes like he said big PITA!!! those clips are hard to get to there will be 2 on top and 2 on the bottom if memory serves me right. I dont get it in the manual they make them seem easy to get off!!

beyond pita! i pulled all of mine out since i was yanking the dash from my car and i just used two pretty wide flatheads (as upposed to smaller ones that might tweak the fragile plastic) and just slowly worked it out.

Old CRX vents are very brittle especially if your car is 15 years old like mine. I choose not to mess with them. I'll end up destroying them if I do. They are just way too old.

agreed...I broke them when a mouse made a nest in the air passages...had to get new ones from the junkyard, and I only got those out by cutting up the entire dashboard; the far right passenger's vent is the same way.
