Default Is EF B20 swap still worth it in today's standard?

I have been thinking of selling my stock EF but I have already got a lot of parts for the B20 swap (almost have all parts minus a good motor). But I am really busy with a new job situation and other projects. I'm really questioning myself if it's worth it? The stock 1.5L EF is slow like a pig. Will B20 swap turns the car into a real fun machine?? Will turboing a stock B20 motor with minor boost a easy thing to do? (say power target 230hp with stock internals).

Or should i just sell the car and concentrate on my job and save up for a newer sports car.... My wife thinks I spent way too much time on my junk cars and motorcycles.

What do you guys think ? Is the pain really worth it>?

Not worth it. Sell it to me is the obvious solution.

Only half kidding haha. IMO - if it’s stock then keep it stock. Harder and harder to find these days...

I like my crx with it's d16a6 very much. Can't imagine what an extra 50 hp would feel like.

the extra hp from the new motor well give your ef the power and go that todays cars have.

but the motor is really just 20 percent of what makes a good car
and no putting a turbo on the swap would only mean more time on jack stands and less time driving.
and then when you do drive it well be short lived ^_-

unless done right but then again no one ever does it right
and when they do its about 10 years later

a faster engine wont make the car better
you have to mess with alot of other things
trust me ^_-

I recently did this swap on the hatch that's the only thing I have wanted to do to it I've had several problems with it like broken alternator bracket, 1 ecu, and the rack and pinion that was a pain in the *** to change lol

Why did alternator bracket break?

Did the swap make it hard to access the rack and pinion?

The belt I used for the alternator was to long so I had to have it all the way at the end of the bracket. Not didn’t get in the way much

My ZC is enough hp for me, so a B20 should be even more so. Though as has been said, the stock SI is plenty fun if you have the suspension really dialed in. A nice s curve is fun regardless of hp.

But yes, your current hamster engine will suck the fun out of any build. Do the swap, then take your wife to a nice dinner in it. You'll be happier on both fronts.
