Easiest engine swap for a 89 Civic Hatch
Hi all, I recently picked up a '89 Civic hatchback for my daily beater. I like the car because the hatch can fit all sorts of junk in, and Im getting close to 40MPG. However, the 1.5 just doesnt have enough power to get out of its own way. Now, I have a modded 3rd gen Rx-7 for my fast car, so I honesly dont care too much about getting the civic "fast", but if I could get to like 150HP or so, it would just make the car so much nicer to drive. I dont really feel like dumping a ton of money into it, and re-wiring the entire car, but I wanted to know what is the simplest swap I could do to pep the car up a bit. And also, please let me know what year/model cars the engines you are talking about come in.. I know a little about honda engines, but when you all start spouting B16C or whatever, that doesnt help me much And please let me know what would all be needed for said swap, or point me to where I can find that out. Thanks!

searching around can net you all your info on how tos what part means what and what our crazy codes mean
is this a SI or no caues if not you'll want to wire to mpfi first of all you can get 150 WHP for around 1500 bucks in these cars either mini me *using a better head with vtec on your stock block* or swap full motor.
you want easy and cheap i'd say mini me bolt ons be around 140 hp crank but scoot you well and get good milage. that'll only be 1000 or less said and done.
