Default Are Dowel Pins a necessity? Just got done with mini-me too :(

Okay well I just got down with a mini-me witch took me an 1-2 hours. I have a d16z6 head on my 88 CRX DX block.

Well I was finished with the timing belt getting ready to do valve lash then the rain started coming so I put everything away. While I was putting stuff away I noticed a dowel pin (I believe thats what its called) there are 2 on the cylinder head where the head bolts go through.

Well I am just wondering if I HAVE to have them in there. I have one in place and I am hoping the dowel pin I found was just an extra from my extra can of parts (bolts, washers, pins, etc.).

Help I need to know my 90 CRX Si motor bit it and I need to put this in there to get to work.

they're used to align the head in the exact space, for the combustion chamber and timing belt alignment.
