Doing y8 head swap on d16, what is best throttle body and intake mani to use?
I heard you can use a integra mani and tb, but im not sure, and i dont know which year will fit? also i heard that the y8 mani and tb is the best, well this is what i have d16a6 bottom, y8 head, 89 teg ecu, apexi vafc, d16 mani and tb, so if you have any ideas which mani and tb would work the best let me know, thanks.

i'm pretty sure all b series tb's work. back when i had the y8 manifold i had a b16 tb on it, so i know the b16 tb's work. if all b series work i would say a type r tb would be best if your engine can breathe that much air.

You can go Y8 manifold plus B18 throttlebody... or just go Y8 manifold and throtlebody (what I would do).

Re: Doing y8 head swap on d16, what is best throttle body and intake mani to use? (Mr. S)
I'm using a Y8 intake manifold on my Y8 head, but I recently installed an LS (b18b) throttle body. It's 60mm versus the 56mm Y8, so I had to bore out the intake manifold plenum opening in order to accept the larger size bore of the new T/B.
Think of the Y8 Intake manifold as the 'Type-R' of D-series I/M's.

My take is that the Z6 is the best N/A manifold and Y8 is the turbo manifold. But that's "here say", not dyno proof... I have all 3 A6,Z6,Y8 and I run the Y8 b/c I'm turbo'd.

I run the z6 manifold with a b18b (60mm) throttle body on a d16y8. Seems to work really well. Nice throttle response and smooth power band. The only advantage of the y8 mani is the larger plenum which might allow a little extra grunt at low rpms. I would argue that the z6 mani is probably better with a larger TB, but people would argue me on this....

Did you search it? Try looking up pics on google and comparing the bolt pattern. Hint: they're different.
