Default Does SOHC ZC bolt up to a d16z6 head?

I have d16z6 head and i have the choice of using either d16a6 block or sohc zc block. I was told that zc has a different head bolt pattern and won't work, is this true? can anybody shed some light on the subject?

p.s. tryed search but the stupid search won't do 2 letter words like "zc".

not being a dick here, but if the search doesn't work for just 2 letter words, then add more words to the search...

here is some info when using "sohc zc" in the search window. not sure if it will help

as long as its a single cam zc block the sohc head will fit
so you're saying the bolt pattern is the same, cuz my friend sayz that one bolt is slightly offset? can anybody verify this?

I have a SOHC ZC bottom end with a d16y8 vtec head on my car and everything went smoothly. It bolted right up just like the old head.

Isn't the 'y8 a little bit different than the 'z6 though. Everybody I've read about so far has used the d16y8 for this. I don't have the 'y8, i just have the d16z6 lying in a little red box whispering to me everyday: "give me life".

im almost positive it will work, the only difference in the two heads is the y8 head has square combustion chambers. Im pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same for all d-series heads.

yes the y8 is diff but the diff is in the design not the bolt pattern....any sphc d series head will bolt onto it the y8 is ur best choice cause it has the smallest compression chamber and will yeild highest compression ratio...teh sohc zc is a d16a6 in japan with slightly diff pistons and it has no cat so it makes slightly high power than a a6 but other than that its a a6
