Default dizzy help...

my friend changed his ignitor and just put the dizzy back in now the car wont start.
how do you find out how to put the time in the dizzy with the motor. people tell me you find out with the timing belt but i would like to know the details to help my boi out.

Most Honda distributors mount only 1 way. To set the timing initially depends on the motor and where the timing marks are. The D16a6 has a set of marks on the timing cover and pulley-you have to look hard for the 3 dots. Set the distributor so that it is mounted in the middle of the range-the ears have slots. That should get you started up. Make sure that ALL of the connections in the connectors are making conact.
To set the timing with the engine running requires a timing light on #1 cylinder. Use the fatory spec for your motor.
