Default D16Z6 with D16B2 power steering pump?

I put in a D16Z6 in my EF sedan. I have the power steering pump and lines for the D15B2 still connected, but the pulley for the B2 is a v-belt, where the crank pulley on the Z6 is a ribbed belt. Will a v-belt stay on and in place? or is there a different pulley I can put on the pump?

You have to re use your d15b2 crank pulley. trying to use the v belt on the ribbed pulley will make a TON of noise and will shred it quite quickly.

I read that swapping a B2 crank pulley onto a Z6 crank is bad for the bearings. Any truth to that?

i have a similar issue to this.

I cannot get the B2 bracket to bolt to the Z6 engine. Anyone have a z6 in an ef with power steering?

swap the pump pulleys, I've done alternators in the same fashion, I don't see why it wouldn't work on the power steering pump...

Maybe when putting a D pulley on a B or an H (if it could even be done), but D motor pulley construction is about the same as far as I know.

Anyway - I ran a B2 pulley on a Z6 for a long time. Had A/C, PS, and alternator with no issues.

couple reasons why that wont work. The b2 pump wont work on the z6 engine because the brackets are different. the z6 pump will work but using a b2 crank pulley without the harmonic dampener on a z6 engine seems a little shaky. Even if i did that, the pulleys mount completely different.

interesting. just scared about killing the bearings.

That will definitely not help me get my power steering to work. Thank you for your input though.

Then the problem i have is using the B2 crank pulley, which from what i read, is terrible for the Z6 blocks bearings.
