CRX Vibration above 70
 

hey guys really need some help, i cant figure out why my car is vibrating like crazy. I dropped it about 3 inch's and now when i go above 70km the car vibrates and makes a rumbling sound. Any ideas? i was thinking it was a off ballance wheel but this is a much much worse vibration.

get an alignment. if the wheels are balanced check your tie rods and sterring rack its comon for the end bushing in the sterring rack to go bad.

also check tires...if they are worn...replace them...but do get an alignment.

So i did all of the following.
-tire balance
-wheel allignment
-re tighten everything
-tq lug nuts to 100 fp
-reinstalled axels to ensure they are correctly in place.

And i still have the vibration.

Maybe crx's arrent designed to go as low as i have it?
i had the problem before so i raised my car to stock hight and the problem
went away i lowerd it on different coilovers and struts and the vibration
did not change.

Please i need urgent help!!!

Might want to check your axles...I had this happen to me a long time ago. And it ended up being my axles.

***Edit*** Nevermind I seen you just checked your axles.

could it be too low and it effects the performance of the axel?

i got a jdm sir, so it has the 1st gen b16 with lsd.
im replacing the clutch this weekend so i will have to buy some new axels
and try that out, mine are in place but have some play, possibly my problem.

anyone else with ideas i appreciate all the help.

It could be too low, cuz the lower you go the more the axle pushes into the knuckle. try replacing the axles I had a vibration problem before, it was a bad axle. The faster I went the worse it got started luging really bad. If replacing them doesn't cure it then the shaft is pushing the knuckle too much, you didn't mention a camber kit, that'll definatly push the wheel out far enough for clearence, and if you've been driving around with shitloads of negative chamber stock or cheap wheels bend easily. . . .

thanks! yeah im gona try to replace the axels and if that doesnt do it im gona step into a camber kit, any ideas on what camber kit would be the best for a really low car? im pretty sure your right, you cant really do a good allignment so that could cause it to be alittle worse then it should be and the axel is under alot of pressure from what i can see... hopefully the next time this happens to someone they have a thread with alot of good input. i really appreciate it guys, its a headache.

so next question is, best camber kit, iv never taken a look at any.

Skunk2 seem to work good for me...had the same problem but not to that degree you have it. Intstalled the Skunk2 Camber Kit and car was like new again. Even though not many consider Skunk2 and go for other brands. Just my 2 Cents.

It kinda sound like you don't do to much suspension work so I think that you shouldn't do anything adjustable check out the towers where your shocks bolt up to the left and right you should see two 19mm nuts where your upper control arm bolts up your goal is to replace those two bushings that go to the body. The kit is only like 20-30 bucks and you can replace them in a half to full hour its pretty obvious how they go in and you have the option of either +1 or +2 degree camber adjustment which should be enough. . .

where would i get these bushings? honda dealer or a performance shop?
Its a cheap alternative before i step into a full camber kit.

I will also take a look into the skunk 2 camber kit, if the bushings dont work i wanna order that camber kit in asap.

Anyone use or know about an spc camber kit such as this one?
