Default crx spring rate question.

i was searching and i found a several threads on spring rate. i was a bit lost. now i'm upgrading my suspension but the problem i'm having is inturpting the spring rate. i was looking in get a set of Tokico Hp blues. for starters. now the spring rate of the springs were 280F & 230R. now there was another set w/a rate of 265F & 165R. the there was a set of true coilover that was 12kg F & 6kg R. can some on help me a bit on decphering this. i will dropping them on my 90 rex w/a 22mm r/sway bar. i want to have a bit aggressive supension while still being able to use it as a DD.

The 280/230 numbers are lb/in (pounds force per inch). The 12/6 numbers are kg/mm. Take that number and multiply by 9.8 and you have N/mm (Newtons per mm), which is what Ground Control uses in their part numbers of their Eibach springs. So, specifically, that setup you were talking about is:

12kg F & 6kg R = 672 lbs/in F & 336 lbs/in R

If you order the ground control kit for the CRX, the default setup is 350F/250R. This is what I have and it seems pretty decent for street but honestly I will probably be going to higher rates for the track. A lot of autocross guys are running stiffer springs in the rear. It depends what you are doing. Also, it depends what shocks you have.

true about running higher rate in the rear but everwhere i look it's the same thing everywhere the fronts are very high spring rate while the rear is half of the front. and yes i understand that the front needs to be a bit heavier due to the motor but getting a balance is a bit harder than on thinks. here's some example:

Megan Racing Full Coilover Dampers
f/12kg & r/6kg

Megan Racing Springs
f/280 & r/230

TEIN Basic Coilovers & Super Street
f/448 & r/224

TEIN S.Tech Springs
f/269 & r/236

Tokico Hp Blues w/Springs
f/266 & r/156

and well trying to get spring rates from other spring/coilovers companys well it's like pulling teeth.

what are stock spring rate. wait a sec. i sense a flame coming on. i'll see if someone posted them here somewhere. search button to the rescuse....

EDIT: well the only thing i found was: 96-00 EX - 165F/80R. so which led me to believe that the Crx should be a wee-bit lower. well it's a start.
